Key features of the Mevo Plus launch monitor
Data and accuracy
The Flightscope Mevo+ launch monitor provides over 20 full swing and short game data parameters for ultimate game improvement and entertainment.
Flight scope sugest using aliminium stickers or RCT balls when using the Mevo plus indoors and into nets due to the limited ball flight.
Ease of use
setting up the Flightscope Mevo plus launch monitor is really simple and you can be hitting shots in no time with very little technical expertise needed. The set up instructions on the app are clear and we had no problems
However, although the proccess setting up the multi camera feature is well guided through the app, it is a little more involved and maybe something you will find yourself not using very often due to the friction in getting it all set up each time. It does work well though when set up.
Fusion Tracking
FlightScope’s Fusion Tracking technology combines 3D Doppler Tracking Radar and image processing for precise data accuracy. This has been on the top of the line X3 launch monitor and has now been made available to the Flightscope Mevo+
There are not many devices out there that utilise both camera and radar sensors to give you data. This works well and noticibly improves the accuracy of the data and reduces the time it takes for the Flightscope Mevo+to calculate your numbers.
Mevo+ Pro package & Impact Detection
Wow…these additional software upgrades are expensive. The on sale the Pro Package costs £775 and the face impact detection costs £385 which i find quite a significasnt additional amount when you consider all the functionality is sitting in the hardware
The Pro Package
This software add-on provides a deep dive into swing mechanics with 12 additional data parameters focused on club data, including the complete D-plane dataset for both full swing and chipping (club path, face angle, face to path, face to target, swing plane, etc.). Pro Package users also gain access to the Trajectory and Environmental Optimizer features on the FS Golf App, allowing them to fine-tune their launch conditions and account for weather anywhere in the world and understand exactly how this affects their data.
The Face impact detection
This optional software add-on for Mevo+ Pro Package users offers valuable insights into ball striking by revealing the precise location of impact for every club. Users can choose to view each shot individually, with shot groupings, or through a heat mapping visual. Face Impact Location also adds two data parameters: lateral and vertical impact.
Not including the club path and face angle data in the base product is a little frustrating for me as i think those 2 data points are huge for understanding your swing when practicing. However, enabling a more cost effectitve base product and a very desirable upgrade path via software is better than the features not being available at all.
Value
While not the most budget-friendly option, the Mevo+ delivers top-tier performance in the consumer market. To find superior features, you’d need to invest significantly more.
The recent update solidifies the Mevo+’s position, enhancing its already impressive capabilities and extending its battery life. For golfers seeking professional-grade analysis without breaking the bank, the FlightScope Mevo+ stands as the go-to choice in today’s market.
